In order to live a higher quality life, maintaining optimal wellness is key. Everything we feel and do relates to our well-being and directly affects our actions and emotions. In order to subdue stress, reduce illness, and ensure positive moments in your life, you must achieve optimal wellness.
To achieve optimal wellness, one must apply it towards every possible endeavor. You can apply a wellness approach towards your environment, community, career, belief systems, physical activities, self care, healthy eating, self esteem, and creative activities. Applying wellness in your everyday life will allow you to achieve your full potential and live with passion and purpose.
Director of Yoga and Group Classes
Katie Fox proudly holds her 200 hours of yoga training with the Yoga Alliance. She has been teaching yoga for over 20 years in the Huntsville area and loves sharing her passion with her community. She is currently an Ayurvedic Coach/Consultant with YogaFit, as well as a Reiki practitioner. Furthermore, Katie is a SHSU Bearkat Alum; graduation from SHSU in 2003 with her Bachelor's of Science. Believing that yoga should be available to everyone, her yoga classes are always beginner friendly, yet giving options for people to advance. When she opened "Fox Yoga Studio" in 2019 she never imagined how committed and strong the community would be in its yoga practice. Everyone's desire to learn drives Katie to continue to study and learn new techniques in her field. Her growth in her yoga practice has been exponential due to the support and drive of the Walker County Community.
Director of Massage and Spa Therapy
Rebecca's passion is assessing and treating myofascial issues to alleviate pain and help the body heal itself. She is a certified Functional Movement Therapist and is Full Body certified in Active Release Techniques. She can help you approach your chronic pain from some different therapeutic perspectives in order to get you moving well again. She is an endurance runner and mother of six children and holds an AA in Business, and a BS and MS in Professional Accounting. She has been a Licensed Massage Therapist by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation since 2006 (TX MT048798). She is a proud member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals since 2005.
Certified Pilates Instructor
Madeline Aldana is a SHSU Bearkat Alum. She holds her BFA in dance. A certified Pilates instructor with Body Balance, Madeline brings amazing energy into her Pilates classes, and she is as a seasoned dance instructor. There is no bad energy with Madeline! You will feel part of the class immediately and have fun, laugh, smile...while working hard.
Kenzie Clyde is an employee of the SHSU full-time, yet teaches yoga out of passion and joy. She is an enthusiastic Yoga Instructor with an advanced level of training in yoga and specialization in Hatha and Restorative Yoga.
She graduated from the Rishikesh Yoga Teacher Training (RYT – 200 Hours) in Rishikesh, India / 2019
Master level training in Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Yoga Anatomy, Pranayama,
Meditation, Yoga Teaching Methodology, Yoga Adjustment and Philosophy
and spiritual journey.

Elizabeth Mize is a seasoned Group Fitness Instructor and ACE certified Personal Trainer. She uses resistance bands, mat exercises, and other low impact training methods in order to build strength and stamina while being gentle on the joints of the body. Elizabeth brings her positive energy and philosophy to her group classes as well as one on one sessions. No judgment, no intimidation...only strong support for you.
Meditation and Master Reiki Practitioner
Caitlyn Ashton leads The Studio in original monthly meditations that are in cycle with the moon. The classes are donation based, so that we can give back to the community around us. As a Master Reiki Practitioner, Caitlyn works with your body's natural energy centers to help you stay balanced and heal.
Holly graduated in August of 2021 from The Woodlands School of Massage Therapy to pursue a lifelong dream. Her grandmothers were massage therapists and she grew up with them as an example of how touch can heal. She hopes to carry on the family tradition of healing by touch. Holly is certified in Myofascial Release Therapy and she is a Licensed Massage Therapist by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation since 2021 (MT1235864) and is a member of ATMA (American Massage Therapy Association). She graduated from Sam Houston State in 2009, with a BA in English and Education.
KC is a graduate of the Woodlands School of Massage and has had significant massage therapy practitioner experience since his licensure. His goal is to provide a whole body approach which addresses chronically tight or congested musculature and fascia which is often the root cause of pain and discomfort. Some of the tools and modalities used to accomplish this are myofascial release, stretching, deep gliding strokes, cupping, and the use of a compression gun applied with light pressure.
His massage services are custom tailored to your specific needs. You will receive a customized session that will leave you feeling relaxed, and restored. Additionally, KC specializes in Swedish, relaxation massage, and breath-work. He has been licensed in the State of Texas since 2021 (MT135935) and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). KC is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified personal trainer with a special interest in corrective exercise. KC believes an integrated approach utilizing a variety of different techniques and modalities is the most effective way to create positive lasting change for the well being of your body.
Jim is enjoying his retirement by practicing a well-developed skill in bodywork. He has significant experience and is certified in multiple types of massage including medical, orthopedic, Thai, and sports. Jim approaches massage treatments methodically with the idea that every problem has a solution, so your treatment session will be custom tailored to your specific needs. He has run marathons and especially enjoyed long distance trail running. He also dances and hikes in his spare time. He has been licensed since 2013 in the State of Texas (MT118808) and is a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP).
